The council secretariat of Mushin Local Government was filled with the spirit of praises and worship, as the entire council, led by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Bamigboye, gathered to offer thanksgiving to God.
The Annual New Year Thanksgiving Service which took place on Thursday, 16th January, was filled with emotion, as the council boss went on his knees with his wife, Mrs. Jumoke Bamigboye, to appreciate God for the success of his 8 years administration as the number citizen and leader of the council in the ancient Local Government.
While delivering his new year thanksgiving message, Hon. Bamigboye expressed appreciation to God for the favour and privilege he has received in his political journey. He thanked the political leaders in Mushin, particularly, Sen. Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (Apex Leader in Mushin and Odi Olowo), for creating a platform for him, members of his cabinet and councillors, to manage the political affairs of the council for two terms and the support he got, from various leaders in the social circle across the entire ten wards and communities in Mushin Local Government.
He gave account of his stewardship and programmes executed to make life comfortable, alleviate poverty and empower both the youth and women in the community. He highlighted the various development projects and programmes, he has facilitated to promote education, healthy living and social welfare for the people.
Different Prayer sessions were conducted by various servants of God, including; the State President of Unified Local Government Christian Fellowship – Pastor. Fagbolade, State Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria in Lagos State – Rev. S.T.V Adegbite and Rev. Dele Ajayi – Presiding Rev. of Chapel of Christ The Light, with prayers offered for peace, harmony and divine protection, for the Executive Chairman and his family, Vice Chairman, Royal Fathers, Legislators, political office holders, public servants and the entire citizens of Mushin community, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
Guests were thrilled with various melodious praise and worship songs by different gospel musicians like Evang. Dare Melody, Evang. (Dr) Dele Ajomale, Miss Heritage and Mushin LG choir.
The chairman also celebrated the young illustrious son of Mushin Local Government, Mr. Samuel Badekale, who just graduated as the overall best student at 55th Convocation of the University of Lagos, with a 5.0 CGPA in the department of Biology and Cell Genetics, Faculty of Sciences.
The event attracted Political leaders, traditional, community leaders, Market leaders and bigwigs in Mushin, like Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Central Audit – Dr (Mrs) Oyeyemi Ayoola, Mrs. Aderonke Solomon (wife of the Apex Leader in Mushin and Odi Olowo), Vice Chairman – Hon. Tunbosun Aruwe and wife, House Leader – Hon. Olawale Ayegbayo and wife, Councillors and wives, Secretary to the Local Government – Mrs. Olubunmi Gbadamosi, Council Manager – Mrs. Adepeju Ogidan, Supervisors, Heads of Department, Special Advisers/Assistants, and staff of Mushin Local Government.
Other dignitaries at the thanksgiving service included; Oba of Odi Olowo Kingdom HRM. Oba Sikirulai Olamide Williams, former. Council. Manager of Mushin Local Government – Mrs. Morenikeji Okwuonu, former Council. Treasurer – Mrs. Toyin. Suarau, Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (Mushin Branch), Rev. Dare Oladele, APC chairman in Mushin, Alhaji Babatunde Shitta – Bey, Woman Leader – Mrs. Muinat, former APC – Aremo Michael Ikufisile, former Woman Leader – Alhaji (Chief) Sariyu Surakat, Chief Imam of Mushin – Alhaji Sheikh Sulaimon Olanijo, CDC chairman – Pa. Femi Okuyemi, APC Ward Chairmen, CDA chairmen, other ethnic groups, Area Commander of Area D police command – ACP Awoniyi and his Divisional Police Officers, officers of Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and coordinators of Unified Local Government Christian Fellowship across the 57 LGs/LCDAs in Lagos State.
It was dance galore for staff, guests and all the congregation as they expressed their appreciation to God for seeing through the year 2024 into another year, 2025.
