The population of Mushin today is close to Two Million inhabitants.
-Mushin Local Government has the largest Rice Market in West Africa, Daleko Rice Market, it has the largest Auto Spare Parts Markets at Ladipo, it has the largest market for the sale of Oranges at Idi Oro. Mushin is home to the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Center (NAFRC), the Federal Institute Of Industrial Research and Organization (FIIRO ), NITEL Training School, and NAFDAC. It also has the largest plank Market at Amu, Mushin. Having Notable media houses like The Nation and Guardian Newspapers.

Mushin has two industrial Areas, namely, Matori Industrial Estate and Apapa Oshodi express road industrial Estate. There are fifty Public Schools and twenty six Secondary Schools.
Also a functional Public Library, located opposite the Bishop Aggey school complex, Mushin, named “Muiz Adeyemi Hybrid Public Library.”
